After returning to my home in the mountains of Northern California from the army in the
summer of 1970 where I served in the Military police in Germany and Italy for two and half
years, my sights were naturally set to enter into law enforcement. Two years at a local college
on a football scholarship studying Police Science and Law Enforcement, landed me a position
with the California State Police in the Oakland Bay area. Three years later while vacationing in
Montana I was offered the opportunity to go into the construction field and took it.
In those days every phase of construction was handled solely by the builder. A great lesson
learned. By 1978 after completing my apprenticeship I built my first “turn key home”. Stick
frame and full Log construction both became my specialty for the next 4 years.
Moving to Arizona in 1983 found me framing homes in Sedona. Shortly there after I formed a
small framing company and began framing houses and apartments in the Phoenix area. Two
years in the heat and away from the mountains was enough. Returning to Sedona and
eventually settled in the Flagstaff area, allowed us the opportunity to get back into the type of
construction we truly enjoyed doing, timber framed and full log style of construction.
Our current company Western Heritage Construction was formed in the early 1990’s and
continues to this day. Building homes across the north land that reflect the type of construction
and quality that only comes with years of experience, but most importantly, values and pride in
the work we do. We look forward to working with you.
